PKNS FC AND MBPJ BOOK A FINAL DATE

Dateline: November 14th 2009

Action from match between PKNS FC and Akademi Soccerkids

Akademi Bolasepak PKNS FC and Akademi Bolasepak MBPJ both overcame stiff opposition to claim a place in the finals of the National Junior Community Football League 2009 while league favourites YFA-Bintang Muda saw their dreams shattered when they went down 1-2 to Shah Alam based Akademi Soccerkids in an exciting quarter-final encounter.

PKNS FC who faced Royal Selangor Club in the last eight, took control of the match from the first whistle and deservedly took a first -half lead when their mid-field dynamo Mior Dani Armin Mior Ariffin collected a pass from the right and without breaking a stride send a thunderbolt pass the helpless RSC custodian Mohd.Hafizi.

The second-half saw both teams getting physical with cruching tackles flying about and on the half hour mark goal scorer Mior Dani turned villain when he was shown a straight red for kicking-out at RSC’s Alfred Holden. With the numerical advantage, RSC when searching for the equalizer but could not find a way past the PKNS defense and their dreams evaporated in the final minutes when substitute Jenna Nair ballooned her shot from 5 meters .

In their semi-final match against giant slayers Akademi Soccerkids, PKNS playing without Mior Dani who is automatically suspended for two matches for his moment of madness against RSC, had to reshuffle their line-up which saw pin sized pocket dynamite Muhammad Adib Hakimi taking over the reins in midfield. Both teams gave a good as they got and the score a halftime remain scoreless. With the industrious Muhammad Adib in full flow and slowly dictating the game for PKNS, the match turned into PKNS favour and they duly seal the match and a place in the final when Muhammad Nazeem Hasif steered the ball home in the 30th minute.

Akademi Bolasepak MBPJ staffed off a brave resistance from Mahkota Football Academy in their quarter-final thanks to two second half goals from Muhammad Shahmi Safari to set-up a semi-final clash against Gen Pro who were themselves stretched to the limit by Kidokickers Football Academy and needed an extra time winner courtesy off their top striker Muhammad Rafieddin after both teams were tied 2-2 at full time.

Gen Pro started the match looking for an early goal and had the MBPJ defense in sixes and seven. As the game progressed MBPJ moved in top gear and broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when Arwin Raj had the easiest task of tapping in the ball off a goalmouth scramble. MBPJ than made it 2-0 in the 21st minute through a goal from Muhammad Fareez Mohd Jeffrey. The effects from their energy sapping match against Kidokickers begin to take its toll on the Gen Pro boys and the second half saw MBPJ in complete control of the match and only some fine goalkeeping by Gen Pro’s custodian kept the score line at 2-0 at full time.

The finals will be played on Saturday 28th November at the Petaling Jaya Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 5.30pm. The 3rd and 4th placing match between Gen Pro and Akademi Soccerkids will be played at 3.30pm at the same venue. The curtain raiser for the finals will be the match between NOJCFL Coaches and Malaysian Ex-internationals.
